YURIBENI Karatsu bent small bowl (Yamabudou – mountain grape)
This bowl is made of white pottery clay, which is rare in Karatsu, and is expressed in a light crimson color using underglaze red. Glaze underglaze red is a method of producing a red color by reduction firing using copper-based pigments. It is known as an advanced technique that is difficult to control the firing temperature because the color changes depending on the weather and kiln conditions. After being formed on the potter’s wheel, the potter lightly deflects it while it is still soft to give it movement. The pale red color of the underglaze red combined with the wan shape of the bowl will warmly envelop your dining table.
