YURIBENI Karatsu 8-sun dish (Kurogane-mochi)
This dish is made of white pottery clay, which is rare in Karatsu, and is expressed in a light crimson color using underglaze red.Glaze-Uribeni is a method of producing a red color by reduction firing using copper-based pigments. It is known as an advanced technique that makes it difficult to control the firing temperature because the color changes depending on the weather and kiln conditions on that day.It is made by molding ceramic clay that has been stretched into a plate-like shape, which gives it a soft and fluffy texture that is not found in the rocro process. The rim of the dish makes it look very beautiful and allows the food to stand out.The rim also makes it easy to hold and spill-proof, making it practical, easy to use, and useful.
