YURIBENI Karatsu Soup Bowl (waremokou)
This bowl is made of white pottery clay, which is rare in Karatsu, and is expressed in a light crimson color using underglaze red.Yuribeni is a method of producing a crimson color by reduction firing using copper-based pigments. It is known as an advanced technique that makes it difficult to control the firing temperature because the color changes depending on the weather and kiln conditions on the day of firing.The height of the bowl is enlarged so that even children can use it safely.In addition to soup, the size of the bowl allows for the enjoyment of larger ingredients such as stews and pot-au-feu.
