YURIBENI Karatsu mug (Waremokou)
This mug is made of white pottery clay, which is rare in Karatsu, and is expressed in a light crimson color using underglaze red.The glaze-under-beni is a method of producing a red color by reduction firing using copper-based pigments. It is known as an advanced technique that makes it difficult to control the firing temperature because the color changes depending on the weather and kiln conditions on that day.It was completed after a long process of trial and error, with the first priority being to create a handle that is comfortable in the hand and does not tire easily even when filled with beverages. It is suitable for coffee and tea, but the soft cream-colored ground also reflects the color of green tea, making it suitable for a variety of occasions in your daily life.
